The Great Moghul
Hints on Solving the Mystery...

General Advice

1) Making a rough timetable will not solve the mystery but it will help give you a picture of Percy's movements on the day.

2) Mysteriz recommend the following Internet search engines:
MSN (http://search.msn.com), Altavista (http://uk.altavista.com)

A Few Hints

a) Have you looked in the pill bottle?
b) Bismuth subsalicylate is an old drug treatment for stomach pain and indigestion. In those days it was available over the counter.
c) The theatre ticket confirms that Percy definitely went to the theatre. Have you found the Colston Hall on the map? Why was Percy so far from the station?
d) The theatre programme shows that the chemist who supplied the pill bottle is opposite the theatre.
e) The pencil is Percy's and is not significant. It's just what he used to write the postcard and the notebook.
f) The piece of metal is definitely not something Percy brought with him from home, so he must have found it on his travels.
g) The rail ticket is an unused return half which shows Percy was intending to return to Great Dyall that day, as do the train times on the first page of the notebook.
h) Why did Percy send his wife a postcard? Have you noticed the tiny numbers round the edge?
i) Who might be the man at the ticket barrier who Percy was seen talking to? Why did he seem a bit uncomfortable in the clothes he was wearing?
j) We know from Percy's telephone call that he did indeed collect The Great Moghul from London and set off back home with it.
